直径、重量与主音，在商品页上一读便知。其余的一切，只能靠聆听，或在视频中看见。正因如此，目录里的每一只钵都配有自己的录音。
敲击一次，声音在房间里持续 90 至 120 秒，均匀地、平缓地归于无声。量产的钵大约 60 秒就安静下来，治疗师不得不更频繁地敲响下一只。疗程因此变得非常紧凑。可您来这里，是为了放松。
除了主音，钵还拥有宽广的泛音谱。好钵的余韵深沉而开阔，声音听上去浓稠饱满；品质不佳的钵泛音范围狭窄，基本只剩下主音本身。
按摩钵要用木棒沿钵口绕行。好钵能保持均匀的振动与舒适的低频声，整整一圈都发出平稳悦耳的嗡鸣——这来自对钵体表面的精细处理。品质不佳的钵会突然跳到更高、更尖锐的声音，刺耳难忍。工匠为我们备下十只钵，我们只留下一只。
按摩钵工作在低频区间，并具有很高的弹性，这种弹性在制作中依靠费工费时的锻打工艺获得。为取得最佳的按摩效果，通常使用 65 至 110 赫兹、且弹性达到特定程度的钵。
在一套钵中，重要的不只是单只钵的音色，还有它们彼此之间的搭配：音与半音的组合，以及钵与钵之间的频率间距。十四只钵几乎相当于十四件乐器，它们必须彼此和谐，才能成其为一支乐队。配好七只钵的一套并不容易；要让十四只钵合出悦耳的和声，难度更是成倍增加。
钵有两个作用方向。振动声学疗法是接触式的：钵放在身体上，如同按摩一般作用。声共振疗法是声学式的：钵在您四周奏响，更多地引向心理层面的放松，同时声波温和地作用于身体。请告诉我们哪个方向更贴近您的需要，我们会附上录音，给出两三个选项，并说明其余的为什么不合适。
